Charlevoix Township tasked me as the lead developer to create this website for their employees and residents in an accelerated timeline. The specifications of this project made it a priority for me and my team. Our graphic designer put together an abbreviated mockup of the home page which I developed using my knowledge of WordPress and coding languages such as HTML and CSS.
When developing this website, there were certain specifications set by the client that I had to meet. Communication with the client as well as with our graphic designer allowed me to gain a clear picture of the design and desired functionality. I decided to approach the project with a wholistic approach, having a clear end in mind.
With my vision clear on the goal, I started working to develop the website. Using my knowledge of Elementor, the software we used to develop the website, along with my knowledge of coding languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript to develop the website.
The plugins we use allow much flexibility, but when it came to the desired functionality of the information boxes and the calendar of events, coding was essential. We used HTML and CSS in order to style the calendar and upcoming events. We used those techniques to shape the information boxes as well. Both are displayed below.
Below showcases the completed project. I learned teamwork and communication throughout this process. Since there was an accelerated timeline for this website, it took more frequent communication with the client. The consistent phone calls and zoom meetings helped us complete the project to the exact specifications set by the client.
